Millets are a rich source of copper, phosphorus, manganese, magnesium, dietary fibre, B Vitamins, calcium, iron, potassium, zinc and protein. You can make oats with millets once in a while and cook this delicious dish.

Ingredients: ½ cup millets, ½ cup dal, 2 ½ cups of water, 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, beans, peas, capsicum), ¼ cup methi leaves, 1 tomato chopped, 1 ½ tsp. ghee, 1 tsp. grated ginger, ½ tsp. cumin seeds, ½ tsp. chilli powder, pinch of turmeric, salt, ½ tsp. garam masala.
Steps:
1. Soak the dal and millets for an hour. Later drain and set aside.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and sauté a few cumin seeds. Add the grated ginger and sauté till it loses its raw smell. Add the mixed vegetables.
3. Cook for a couple of minutes. Toss in the spice powders.
4. Next add the millets and dal. Sprinkle salt and cook till you get 2 whistles.
