A fun and learning activity to introduce your child to learn the letter 'N' is making a Noodle Necklace. You can talk to your child about letter 'N', the sound it makes or sing songs about the letter 'N' during the activity.

Requisites: Different types of pasta which have holes to be threaded, food colouring, sealable containers (3 in number) and a string.

Steps:

1. In a sealable container, get your child to add 10 ml of water with 5 drops of colouring. Both of you can count together while adding the drops.

2. Add 1 cup of pasta (same type) into the container.

3. Place the lid on tightly and shake the container until all pasta have color on them.

4. Similarly, you can use another colour and get another type of pasta ready.

5. Place the wet pasta onto a paper towel to dry. Spread well to avoid the pasta sticking together. Here, you can talk to your child about the opposites wet and dry.

6. Get your child to make patterns along the string with the coloured pasta. Leave the pattern to his imagination. Here you can talk about words like 'noodles', 'necklace' and can count each piece of pasta as it is threaded.

Through this activity your child can learn about colors, enhance his vocabulary and fine motor skills.
