"Measure it Up" - Teach how to measure using a tape

This is the age when kids are open to acquire knowledge about different aspects of life. The logical skills of a child need to be expanded so that he transforms into a sensible and smart person. Make sure the kid is offered with important lessons at home that shall help him in his later life. Does your child know how to measure things with a measuring tape? If not, then here's an activity that shall help you.

1.Select any four objects of different lengths. The first lesson is to teach the child about length, breadth and height.
2.Select any one object and make sure the 0 mark is placed at one end and the tape is stretched along its length. The reading on the tape which falls exactly at the other end of the object would give its length.
3. Ask the kid to note this value.

Make the child learn about ‘cm’ and ‘inch’ scale. This is an interesting way to make the kid familiar about measuring. Now ask the kid to measure the length of the other objects and note it down.
